At Shompole, luxury is defined by experience, environmental responsibility and individuality. With this in mind, we work with African artisans, women’s groups, independent traders and craftspeople to produce a collection of high quality, unique house wares, jewelry and tribal arts. Our one-of-a kind beadwork and jewelry are all handmade products created by freelance artists who price and determine the fair value of their own products

Every piece of jewelry we make in Africa begins with an adventure. Gold is our base material, but the design process starts with a trip to the market for inspiration, scouring kiosks for scraps of bone, vintage beads, chunks of old stone, or talismans from a witchdoctor's coat. The safari begins on the streets, long before an idea reaches the studio. All our creations are a collaborative effort by a multi-tribal team of African artists. Our goal is to preserve the art of African goldsmithing while combining unexpected elements in a contemporary way. |

The shop and collection were created in tandem Shompole Lodge, located on the southern border of Kenya. Home to over 3,500 Maasai people who are community shareholders in the lodge enterprise. It is in this spirit of uplifting communities and creating commerce and partnerships in Africa that Shompole Collection was founded. We hope you will enjoy browsing the website and encourage you to contact us for further information. |
